Rilang Children’s Home is a home for orphans, chronically ill parents and children living in non-conducive environment. In 2014-15, Rilang Children’s Home had 41 children who were looked after by 11 staff members. At Rilang Children’s Home great emphasis was laid on socio-cultural development.

There are four committees: a) Education committee, b) Food committee. c) Heath committee and d) Recreation committee. Rilang Chidlren’s Home restored 12 children whose families were traced out and were ready to receive them.
District Child Protection Unit under Department of Social Welfare State 2015-2016 2454507 Rilang Children Home is home for orphans, chronically ill parents and children living in non-conducive environment. Its main aim is to endow a child with the virtues of C-H-I-L-D: C-Care, H-Humility, I-Integration, L-Learning and D-Development. In 2015-16, there were 31 children who were looked after by sisters and staff members. During 2015-16, 3 children were restored by Rilang Children’s Home whose families were traced out and were ready to receive them.

One of the activities that Rilang right from the beginning laid stress on is education. Education is a window of abundance of opportunities in life. Children were sent to H. Elias Higher Secondary School, Nongthymmai, a school that caters especially for the poor, the weak and most neglected ones from the city. Other than education, counselling was given importance.
